I am very excited to an interview with Daisy form Daisy Does (HERE) Daisy Does is a Jewellery site, that specialises in beautiful and unique handmade jewellery.
Another amazing aspect of this company is that you can also get your own jewellery commissioned and have it made how you want it!
Here is the Interview!
1) Is there anything that inspires you when creating your jewellery?
It may sound strange and very 'un-cool', but nothing particularly inspires me when making jewellery except for the colours, beads and charms themselves. I can instantly tell just by looking at them what would go well together and I'm always eager to put them together and start making straight away!
2)How long does it take to create each piece?
The time each piece takes to be made varies by what sort of item it is. The charm bracelets can sometimes take hours, but sometimes the elasticated beaded ones less than half an hour. I'm pretty quick these days as it's true what they say; practise makes perfect! The bulk of my job is actually answering questions on social media, replying to and writing emails, the administration side of owning your own business and editing photographs. If I could spend all day making, I would! But unfortunately other things need to be attended to.
3)When was Daisy Does created?
Daisy Does was created in July 2011. A year after I graduated from drama school, I moved back to my mum's in the Cotteswolds to set up my own business. Just over a year and a half later, and here I am
4) Are there any trends in jewellery that you have noticed?
I'm not a massive follower of trends in terms of jewellery. I tend not to be too involved with looking at what other people are doing because I don't want it to colour my own imagination. I see a few pieces here and there that I like, usually statement necklaces, but I tend to fulfill my own needs in terms of jewellery. I try to fill the gap in the market and make pieces that I, as a shopper and consumer, was looking for but couldn't find.
5) Where did the name Daisy Does come from?
I spent a very long time trying to decide on a name for my business. I was nicknamed Daisy when my mum was pregnant with me and it's kind of stuck. After weeks of saying random phrases and discussing names with anyone who would listen, it just sort of popped into my head one day. I liked the sound of it and never looked back!
